Gasthof zur Sonne in Wiechs am Randen

Great food even before Corona and still now. The ordered food could be picked up at the desired time. Everything was fresh from the stove without being kept warm

We had dinner here. The food was good to very good. Service very good. The waiting time is far too long = insufficient! The menu, a "Ticino specialties menu", not a single meat-free dish. Every dish is a specialty. Not good for a family dinner with children. The children / adolescents cannot decide for themselves because they do not know a lot. About the meal: Our dishes were very well cooked, with the exception of the pasta, which was dried out ... left lying around for too long? Too bad. The chicken breast was good, but more than a breast - it was a breast with thighs - a shock to someone who hates meat on the bone! Quantity: six of us had five menus without a starter. Just enough that we could take a little dessert. Great. Thank you. Prices: for us as Swiss, the prices are okay - not cheap, but in line with the service. My tip: improve the "delivery speed", include a vegetarian menu on the menu!

We spent one night in the Gasthof zur Sonne and felt very comfortable. Had a delicious dinner, slept very well and had a good breakfast! Very good service and very nice hosts!

Cozy atmosphere on the terrace, and good local food mixed with Italian cuisine. BUT we waited our main course for 2h, reordering a drink took about 15-20min per order, and they forgot to serve the water. Staff took it bad when we pointed it out, kindly.

Good food, delicious and the kitchen can handle spices. Not the cheapest but worth every penny, price - performance is absolutely fine.

The food was good, but also expensive, but this is not at all, is the derogatory treatment by the staff. We got reluctantly shortly after 18 o'clock, because not reserved, the only 2-table in the whole restaurant was not covered. When we decided to eat something, only a placemat with a knife and fork was added. We did not miss, the other visitors who had not reserved, were shown to a set table. The welcome from the kitchen was withheld. As soon as we were done with the food, we were told pretty directly, that it would be good if we would go now, since the table was reserved. I think that was just a lie, otherwise the table would have been covered from the beginning. We, that's 2 men in the middle of 50, have been traveling by motorbike, both entrepreneurs, but they will hardly come back, nor make a recommendation.

Very good👌👌, a bit more expensive, but worthy of praise. We had delicious first and main courses in the style of the Ticino. Wow! Although it took some time between the first and the main course, the quality of the cooking made up for it. Happy again 😋

my wife and I from amriswil, in thurgau switzerland, come to visit egberth and his wife 2 to 3 times a year in the sun in wiechs am randen. every time is an experience with the host couple very fine food. JUST GREAT!! We would like to come again
